SAC NON-RESIDENT COOPERATION (Research)

OPEN CALL: NON-RESIDENT COOPERATION (RESEARCH)

The Slovak Atlantic Commission invites applications from young scholars who are interested in research cooperation with its newly established Central European Policy Institute.

Slovak Atlantic Commission, as an organization with long record in supporting young professionals in the field of international affairs, launches a think tank connecting scholars from Central Europe in multi-generation way. Young scholars from Central-European countries, who wish to boost their career by gaining all-important experience in policy-oriented research and advocacy activities, can work together with our senior research fellows.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for Master or Doctoral degree students or graduates:
- interested in long-term non-resident cooperation in research and advocacy;
- with experience in academic writing;
- looking for experience in policy-oriented research and advocacy;
- with proficiency in English language;
- possibly with experience from recognized university;
- with good communication skills;
- with expertise in one or more of these topics:

Research and advocacy topics:
- regional cooperation (Visegrad or Central European) in foreign policy and security issues;
- CFSP, energy security, transatlantic partnership and NATO related issues;
- transformation of countries of the Western Balkans, North Africa and Eastern Partnership.

Interns can be involved in one or more of the following activities:
- daily and weekly updates;
- policy briefs and longer studies;
- written commentaries in the Media;

Candidates are allowed but not required to be present in our Bratislava office and are welcomed to cooperate online (ideal for students at foreign universities or young graduates starting their professional career).

- with expertise in one or more of these topics:

- regional cooperation (Visegrad or Central European) in foreign policy and security issues;
- CFSP, energy security, transatlantic partnership and NATO related issues;
- transformation of countries of the Western Balkans, North Africa and Eastern Partnership.

- advocacy meetings and presentations;
- written and spoken commentaries in the Media;
- providing support to senior analysts.

SAC INTERNSHIP

OPEN CALL: INTERN

The Slovak Atlantic Commission encourages motivated undergraduate and graduate students to complete an internship in the Slovak Atlantic Commission and take part in its projects and activities.

The Slovak Atlantic Commission, as an organization with long record in supporting young professionals in the field of international affairs, offers full and part-time internship for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in gaining practical experience in public policy. Interns participate in a variety of activities and support individual programs and projects of the Slovak Atlantic Commission.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for Bachelor, Master or Doctoral degree students or graduates:

- In the field of International Relations, European Studies, Mass Media Communication, Journalism, Economics and Management (or other fields compatible with activities of the Slovak Atlantic Commission);
- With good communication skills;
- With proficiency in English, French or other foreign languages;

Interns are expected to be involved in one or more of the following activities:

- Project management and project assistance
Public diplomacy events (e.g. GLOBSEC – Bratislava Global Security Forum, EU Enlargement in the Balkans), Expert events (e.g. Visegrad Security Cooperation Initiative, Stratcon), Development projects (e.g. Improving Democratic Institutions: Door to Europe)

- Logistics, technical and support activities
Technical assistance, Public Relations and Marketing, Interpretation and Translation

Internship period depends on intern's agenda and projects run by the Slovak Atlantic Commission at particular time. Determined agenda is based on individual preferences and skills of interns and activities of the organisation.
