ISAF Directive to avoid civilian casualties

Last 14th of January, ISAF Commander David D. McKiernan issued a Tactical Directive aimed at providing guiding principles on operation conducted in Afghanistan, with the intention to tackle the issue of civilian casulties.

The directive reaffirms some of the guiding principles that ISAF troops have been following in Afghanistan since the beginning of the operation: proportionate response, respect for Afghan patners, cooperation with Afghan authorities, respect for human life (what distinguish us from enemies).
